Mauresmo apologised to the crowd for not making more of a contest of the final at the China Open.
"I'm disappointed, there's nothing much to say, she just played much better than me, especially after the rain," the 27-year-old said.
"We didn't know if we were going to start again or if we might have to come back tomorrow. She obviously dealt with it better than I did."
